Dental Veneers Labrador

Dental veneers are a popular dental treatment that can correct minor or complex imperfections in your smile.

Luxury, yet affordable. Dentists@Labrador offers both composite veneers and porcelain veneers.

Dental veneers can address multiple dental concerns. These may include repairing cracked or chipped teeth, correcting mild to moderate tooth discoloration, closing minor gaps in teeth (diastema), correcting mildly misaligned or uneven smiles, as well as strengthening teeth that are in poor condition.

About Composite Veneers

Composite veneers offer many benefits to a patient’s smile. They primarily aim to correct the shape, color, length, and structure of a tooth however, they can address other mild cosmetic concerns.

The procedure for composite veneers first begins with a consultation with your dentist.
During this consultation, we’ll first listen to you and your concerns about your smile,
establishing your ideal results. Your dentist will then go on to put together a suitable treatment plan and let you know of alternative treatment options if composite veneers are not the suitable solution for your smile.

Once the treatment commences, it’s important to note that all patients generally must undergo a check-up and thorough cleaning before their veneers are affixed.

After this oral clean, your dentist will apply a composite resin in layers to the tooth that
hardens using a curing light. Once this process is complete, your composite veneers will be polished thoroughly before being attached to your tooth structure.

About Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are often a more popular selection over composite veneers, however,
they typically carry a larger price. They are thin shells of ceramic material which is bonded to the teeth that are damaged, discolored, or in poor condition.

Some patients choose one or two teeth to have porcelain veneers placed on, while others choose to have a certain number of upper teeth to have porcelain veneers (typically 4-8 upper front teeth).

If opting for porcelain veneers, you will first undergo a consultation with your dentist. Similar to composite veneers, your dentist will establish your candidacy for the treatment and advise a suitable treatment plan that aims to achieve your desired results, as discussed.

Once the treatment commences, your dentist will first take an impression of your smile. This mold of your smile will then be sent to a dental laboratory where the porcelain veneers will be custom-made to fit and suit your smile. This process can take up to four weeks.

You will then be called back into our practice where your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and your custom-made, new porcelain veneers will be fitted. Porcelain veneers aim to look and function just like your natural teeth and many of our patients and their family claim that it is almost impossible to tell the difference!
