Teaching your children about their dental health is important for ensuring the longevity of their teeth, instilling good oral hygiene habits and making them comfortable and familiar in the dentist chair.
Your child’s first dental visit is recommended by 12 months old, or when their first tooth comes in (whichever happens first). Just like adults, children should see the dentist every six months for a routine examination.
For anxious children, we may recommend a quick check-up every three months to build comfort and confidence.
Our dentists in Labrador provide friendly and gentle child dental services. We strive to make the experience a positive and educational one for your children.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible children $1,000 worth of basic dental benefits over two consecutive calendar years.
Children and teenagers must be aged between 2 and 17, eligible for Medicare, and a part of a family that receives Family Tax Benefit Part A or receive an Australian Government payment from the eligible list.
Services that are covered by the CDBS include examinations, cleans, x-rays, fillings, extractions and root canal treatment. Services that are not covered include orthodontics and cosmetic dental treatments.
